Prescott Things to doPrescott AZ annual Summer Concert Series – get out of the heat everone! Prescott’s Courthouse Plaza hosts free, live entertainment five nights a week, from karaoke singing to dance lessons to band performances. Prescott’s Downtown Summer Concert Series aims to offer something for everyone in its expanded evening programs. The events will take place from 6:30 to 8:30 pm, Tuesday through Saturday, on Courthouse Plaza’s north lawn on Gurley Street, and will include 65 evenings of entertainment, running June 1st through September 5th.

The free concerts will kick off Tuesday nights off with Jazz on the Square. Wednesdays are the night for dancers. Every other week, the Lynx Creek Cloggers will perform beginning June 1. On the alternate Wednesdays, beginning on June 7, dance instructors will be on hand to get the crowd involved, providing dance lessons featuring a variety of styles, such as salsa, cowboy swing, and hip-hop.

On Thursdays, the concert series will turn the microphone over to local singers, vying for the title of “Prescott’s Karaoke Idol.” To sign up for performances, participants must go to the Kolt/Canyon/The Wolf radio station at 96.7 The Wolf and sign up.

On Fridays and Saturdays, various local and out-of-town bands will take the stage. There will be a brand new band every night, and band styles will vary from country to rock to blues.
